The themes of containment, protection, secrecy and hoarding have informed the design and production of a long evolving series of boxes, and more latterly, Vessels ranging in size from small jewel-like pieces to large organic, almost monumental, elemental objects.

Kinetic Sculpture
In these pieces I'm trying to bring together all my interests, design experience and making skills. The aesthetic is very particular, at times painstakingly controlled, modern but with an odd under-current which has something of the excitement and optimism of the 1930's 'Sci-Fi' and 'Futurism'. It is also an important part of the making ethos that everything used is either scrap or sourced from old or obsolete consumer or industrial equipment, employing new ways of re-using the sophisticated technology incorporated in even quite cheap products.
