Islamic Candle Clock

Another design from al-Jazari's Book of Ingenius Mechanisms, this time a Candle Clock. Brass, wood, lead, beeswax candle. Height 48cm (19 Inches). As the Candle burns down a cord mechanism rotates the indicator dial from which the time can be read.
