A practical realization of a proposed incendiary device called the "Fleeing Tortoise" from the 1420 book of Giovanni Fontana. The model runs on commercial black-powder rocket-motors and achieves a good speed and a distance of 60 or 70 metres. Length 38cm (15 Inches) Width 25cm (10 inches).
