Philon's Alarm Clock

Based on the writings of Philon of Byzantium, who was active in Alexandria around the 2nd Century BCE. Basically a Clepsydra or Water-Clock which lifts a float dropping heavy balls on to a beaten metal plate. Materials used include copper, brass, lead, marble. Overall size: 50cm. (20 Inches.)
